Covered Bridge Produce is a eight year old experiment in humane and sustainable farming. It exists to provide good food for those inclined to tread lightly on the Earth, honest work and a positive environment for those who labor in its fields and a sense of purpose for its proprietor. The venture occupies five acres of an 18th Century farmstead in Oley Township, Berks County and is named for an old covered bridge spanning the Manatawny Creek at the farm's edge. Covered Bridge Produce is warranted by Pennsylvania Certified Organic.
Covered Bridge Produce aspires to produce fresh, healthy, attractive, organically grown fruits and vegetables. It strives to respect all beings affected by the farm including flora, fauna, employees and customers. In order to be of service to society, the farm offers educational programming and contributes a portion of its production to charity and to those in need.
