Tofu with Cilantro Sauce
The cilantro and ginger really take advantage of tofu's ability to soak up flavors in this dish. Serve this to any non-believer. |
- 1 lb. firm tofu
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. canola oil
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh ginger root
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tsp. brown sugar

Cut the tofu into 4 thick slices and set aside. Whisk the oil, ginger, cilantro, soy sauce and sugar together in a bowl. Add the tofu and marinate 4 hours, turning once. Saute the tofu slices in a hot, oiled pan to brown slightly on each side. Add the marinade and heat through, about 5 minutes. Serve warm. |
